Some couples celebrate birthdays with a quiet night in. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce aren’t really “quiet night in” people — at least not when the cameras happen to be rolling down Mulberry Street.

The pop superstar and her football-playing husband were spotted out in New York City on Monday night, October 5, celebrating Travis’s 37th birthday with a cozy dinner date at one of SoHo’s hardest tables to get. And honestly? After the week the two of them have had — new music smashing records, a football win, a birthday — they earned the fancy pasta.

A Very Married Birthday Dinner in SoHo

The newlyweds slipped out for the evening at Torrisi, the Italian restaurant on Mulberry Street co-founded by Mario Carbone that snagged a Michelin Star back in 2023. If you’ve ever tried to get a reservation there, you know: this is not a spontaneous “oh, let’s just grab dinner” situation. This is a plan-24-hours-in-advance situation.

Travis kept it classic and low-key for his big night — a cardigan sweater with black pants, very “athlete off-duty in the fall” energy. Taylor, meanwhile, went with a black dress under a black leather jacket, the kind of effortlessly cool date-night uniform she’s basically perfected over the past two years of Chiefs season fashion moments.

There’s something sweet about how normal they looked, considering nothing about their lives is normal. Just a married couple, dodging paparazzi on a Monday night in SoHo, ordering Italian food on a birthday. Except one half of that couple just had her newest song debut at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, and the other half plays tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs. You know. Normal stuff.

She Had Plenty to Celebrate Too

Because of course she did. It’s Taylor Swift — when does she ever show up empty-handed to her own narrative?

Taylor’s brand-new single “Patient Zero” just debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. And it didn’t come alone: three more new tracks from The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore all landed within the Top 5 in the same week. Four songs in the Top 5 at once. That’s not a release, that’s a takeover.

With “Patient Zero,” Taylor now has 16 number-one songs on the Hot 100 — a total that puts her in absurdly rarefied company. Even more wild: it’s her fourth chart-topper of 2026 alone. Most artists would kill for one number one in a calendar year. She’s collected four like they’re participation trophies.

So Monday night’s dinner wasn’t just a birthday celebration for Travis. It was a double celebration — her record-breaking week and his 37th birthday, wrapped into one romantic SoHo evening. The girl knows how to multitask.

From Vegas to Manhattan in 24 Hours

Travis earned that dinner, too. Just one day earlier, he was in Las Vegas suited up for the Chiefs’ game against the Raiders — a nail-biter that Kansas City pulled out 30-27. The win came during a much-needed stretch for the team, and Travis reportedly made his own fashion statement on the way in, wearing a game-day outfit worth a cool $94,000. Ninety-four thousand dollars. For walking through a tunnel.

The Chiefs are currently on their bye week, which means Travis gets a breather — and crucially, quality time with his wife in New York. Their next game is scheduled for Sunday, October 18, back home in Kansas City, and if history is any guide, Taylor will be there in a suite cheering him on. At this point her game-day outfits generate almost as much coverage as the games themselves, which is either impressive or ridiculous depending on your perspective. It’s impressive.

What’s fun about the bye-week timing is that it gave them a rare full weekend together with zero professional obligations — no tour dates, no game prep, no studio sessions. Just a football game in Vegas on Sunday and a birthday dinner in Manhattan on Monday. For two of the busiest people on the planet, that’s basically a vacation.

The Newlywed Era Is Still Going Strong

It’s worth pausing to appreciate how far these two have come. Their relationship played out in the public eye from that first Chiefs game appearance back in 2023, and the internet has been collectively invested ever since. Engagement speculation, tour dates worked around the football schedule, red carpets together — and now, marriage. Friends and former castmates have gushed about what the two of them were like on their wedding day, and by all accounts the whole thing was as joyful as you’d hope.

Since then, they’ve settled into a rhythm that works: she dominates the music world (the Showgirl era shows no signs of slowing down), he dominates on the field, and when the schedules align, they’re spotted doing extremely cute couple things — like birthday dinners at Michelin-starred Italian spots in SoHo.

What makes them so watchable as a couple, honestly, is that they seem to genuinely enjoy each other’s worlds. Taylor shows up to Arrowhead in Chiefs red, freezing in January playoff weather, looking thrilled. Travis shows up to support her at events and premieres. There’s no sense that either of them is dragging the other along — they’re each other’s loudest cheerleaders, and it’s not even subtle.

What a Week for the Swifts — Er, Kelces

Step back and look at the past seven days for this household: a wedding-era romance still going strong, a football victory in Vegas, a bye week offering rare downtime, four songs crashing the Top 5 of the Hot 100, a sixteenth number one, and a 37th birthday dinner in one of New York’s best Italian restaurants. That’s a lot of winning for one week.

Taylor’s The Life of a Showgirl project has clearly tapped into something. The original album’s release was a cultural event in its own right, and the Encore material — including “Patient Zero” — is proving the momentum isn’t going anywhere. Four number ones in a single year would be a career-defining achievement for anyone else. For her, it’s just October.

And for Travis? Turning 37 as a professional athlete is no small thing — most tight ends are long retired by then. But he’s still producing for the Chiefs, still winning games, and spending his birthday week with his superstar wife in New York. Tough life.

Happy birthday, Travis. And congratulations, Taylor — on the number one, the marriage, and the extremely good taste in restaurants.
