Rachel Zegler knows how to make an entrance — and this week she made one in support of someone she clearly doesn’t mind being linked to. The 25-year-old actress was photographed at a celebratory gathering for the cast and crew of Wanted, Broadway’s buzziest new musical, and she spent much of the night posing alongside the show’s star, Bradley Jaden. If you don’t know, the two were spotted holding hands in New York City just last month — a sighting that sent the internet into full detective mode.

So yeah, her showing up at his show’s preview party isn’t exactly the kind of thing you do for a casual acquaintance. But we’ll let the photos do the talking.

A Sold-Out First Weekend for Wanted

Let’s back up a bit, because the real stars of the night were the show itself and the team behind it. Wanted — a brand-new musical with a book and lyrics by Angelica Chéri and music by Ross Baum — officially began previews on Thursday, October 15, and the production has already sold out its entire first weekend of performances. That’s no small feat for a fresh, original musical arriving on Broadway without a famous film or book franchise behind it. Audiences are clearly hungry for something new, and Wanted seems to be giving it to them.

To mark the milestone, the cast and crew headed to the Levi’s Times Square store after that first preview performance, turning the denim flagship into a makeshift after-party venue. Levi’s has been leaning into the theater world lately — its Times Square store sits right in the heart of the Broadway district, making it a natural fit for this kind of celebration — and the cast clearly appreciated the chance to unwind after the adrenaline of opening night energy.

The new musical centers on the Clarke family, and the principal cast is stacked with vocal powerhouses. Solea Pfeiffer — who theater fans will remember from her turn as Maria in West Side Story on Broadway and as the original Eliza in Hamilton‘s San Francisco sit-down — plays Mary Clarke. Liisi LaFontaine takes on Martha Clarke, while Grammy-winning R&B legend Ledisi — yes, the Ledisi, a 16-time Grammy nominee and one of the most decorated voices in contemporary soul — plays Tallulah Clarke. Luke James, the Grammy-nominated R&B singer-songwriter who’s also carved out an acting career on screen, plays Elijah. Bradley Jaden, the West End standout who originated the role of Jesse, rounds out the family alongside Aurelia Williams as Sissy and Awa Sal Secka as Flo.

It’s a company built for vocal fireworks, and judging by the early sellout, word is already traveling.

Rachel Zegler’s Broadway Roots Run Deep

Of course, Rachel Zegler showing up at a Broadway opening-week celebration makes perfect sense if you’ve been following her career at all. Before she was Snow White — before the Disney live-action debates, before the Golden Globe for West Side Story — she was a New Jersey theater kid posting covers from her bedroom. She won her first Golden Globe for playing Maria in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story, and she made her Broadway debut last year in the critically adored Romeo + Juliet opposite Kit Connor, playing Juliet at the Circle in the Square Theatre.

That production earned her a devoted theater following, and she’s been a fixture at Broadway openings and industry events ever since. She knows this world from the inside — the nerves of a first preview, the relief of a sold-out weekend, the champagne-and-denim-store aftermath. So when she showed up at the Levi’s party to support the Wanted company, it read as both a professional courtesy and something a little more personal.

Especially since she posed for photos with Bradley Jaden himself.

The Hand-Holding Photos That Started It All

Let’s talk about the elephant in the Times Square Levi’s store: the rumor. Last month, Rachel and Bradley were photographed holding hands during an outing in New York City, and the photos spread fast. Neither has publicly confirmed anything — and to be fair, two actors holding hands in Manhattan isn’t exactly a sworn affidavit — but the timing was interesting. Bradley Jaden, a West End star known for roles in Wicked, Les Misérables, and Shucked, is currently leading a brand-new Broadway musical. Rachel is a Broadway alum with a Golden Globe on her shelf. They run in the same circles. The hands were held. You do the math.

Now, she’s showing up at his show’s preview celebration, posing for pictures with him and mingling with his castmates. Coincidence? Possibly. But Broadway has a long and storied tradition of opening-night romances — from onstage chemistry to offstage dinner dates — and theater kids have been shipping this one since the hand-holding photos dropped. The Levi’s party photos will only fuel the fire.

Neither Rachel nor Bradley has commented on the nature of their relationship, and honestly, good for them. The internet’s track record of letting celebrities date in peace is roughly zero, so a little privacy is earned. But when you show up to the Levi’s Times Square store in support of the guy’s big Broadway moment, the photos tell a story whether you narrate it or not.

A Star-Studded Room: Neil Patrick Harris and More

Rachel wasn’t the only familiar face in the room. Neil Patrick Harris — who knows a thing or two about Broadway openings, having won a Tony for Hedwig and the Angry Inch and hosted the Tonys four times — also caught one of the early performances and posed for photos with the cast. When Neil Patrick Harris shows up at your preview, that’s the theater world’s version of a five-star review. The man is basically Broadway royalty at this point, and his presence at the Levi’s celebration added serious weight to the evening.

Also in attendance: Project Runway alum Anna Molinari, Grammy and Emmy winner Adam Blackstone, actor and recording artist Jacob Latimore, rapper Killer Mike, and Isabelle McCalla, the current star of the musical comedy series Schmigadoon!. It’s exactly the kind of cross-industry crowd a buzzy new musical pulls — theater people, music people, TV people, all packed into a denim store in Times Square to celebrate a show that sold out before it even officially opened.

That’s the thing about Broadway in 2026: the lines between industries have basically dissolved. A rapper at a musical preview party doesn’t raise an eyebrow anymore. A Disney princess at a denim-store after-party is just a Tuesday. The theater district is having a genuine moment, and Wanted is riding the wave.

What Comes Next for Wanted

The musical is currently in previews, with its official opening night set for November 8. If the sold-out first weekend is any indication, tickets are going to be a hot commodity through the holidays — and this is exactly the kind of show that can turn a strong preview run into a long Broadway life. Original musicals are always a gamble, but the combination of a powerhouse cast, a celebrated creative team, and genuine word-of-mouth buzz is the recipe that launches hits.

For Bradley Jaden, the stakes are personal too. A West End star headlining a new Broadway musical is the kind of career moment actors dream about, and doing it in front of a sold-out house — with Neil Patrick Harris in the audience and his rumored girlfriend at the after-party — is about as good as a first week gets.

As for Rachel Zegler, she continues to be one of the most interesting young careers in the business. She survived the Snow White discourse, kept her sense of humor intact, and has come out the other side as a genuine theater-world darling. Whether she’s there as a supportive friend, a fellow Broadway alum, or something more, her presence at the Wanted celebration says plenty.

We’ll be watching to see if she turns up again on opening night — November 8 — when the real reviews land. If the hand-holding photos and the Levi’s party are any indication, don’t be surprised if she’s in the audience. Some Broadway stories write themselves.
